Hans-Achim Brand, the founder of PurpurLab GmbH, has been working in this field since 1991. Sabine Blank, our laboratory manager, has been developing water-based colour pastes and establishing colour databases since 2005.

Why work with PurpurLab?
The royal colour purple is the only colour not found in the colour spectrum of sunlight. Purple is a mixture of the light colours red and violet, which form the upper and lower limits of the visible light spectrum. According to Goethe, this special colour has a mystical quality that overcomes the darkness.
There is something similarly mystical about developing pigment preparations. Customers frequently expect us to square the circle. For example, they want a particular colour shade applied to the most varied materials, but adding the pigment preparations must not change the special technical characteristics of the materials. We are committed to meeting these complex requirements. This challenge is symbolised in our company name by the colour royal purple.
The word “Lab” contained in our company name stands for the sometimes arduous research and development work in our laboratory and the technical know-how on which our products are based. Intelligent solutions for challenging customer requests must be developed and thoroughly tested in a laboratory. “Lab” also stands for the L a b values used in colorimetry, which describe the colour space and define colour shades. So our company name also points to PurpurLab’s expertise in coloristics.
